The Good News Club at Upper Pittsgrove School was started in 2001 by Ginny
Gantz, a retired teacher at the school.
Through the years there have been 8 adult leaders, 10 student helpers. We have
used four different classrooms.
During our current year we have 13 faithful clubbers from kindergarten to third
grade. Their favorite part of club is the Bible Lesson together with the review
questions which always includes a game. They enjoy singing the songs and taking
turns leading the singing.
One of my favorite parts of club is prayer time; watching them learn how to pray
for anything and everything. We have prayed for jobs, cancer, families, sick pets,
broken bones and in particular this year praying for a clubber whose home burned
down.
Our favorite part of the curriculum is the focus on the truth of God’s Word, our
salvation through Jesus Christ, His sovereignty, and that God keeps His promises.
Our club runs from 3:30-4:30 each Tuesday from October to April. We begin with
a snack followed by a time of prayer and singing. The memory verse is presented
followed by the memory verse song, the Bible lesson and review game. We have
been blessed by the great support of the school staff and the technology provided in
the classroom.
Our leaders this year include me, Marilyn English, Mary Zientek, Verna Bryan and
Pastor Joe Schneider.
